Sam- A young kid in Lowes told me those metal things are called "Clavos" or Mexican nail. Just a large headed nail. I was gonna counter sink cabinet knobs. Thought I was being really ingenious. Anyway, Jen found them on ebay really cheap. Weird because the same outfit sells their 1 1/2" for $8.50 and their 2" for only $1.05. They are cast iron and can be "rusted" for a more antique look. The one's that Lowes could order me were $6.00. I'm excited to get them. Gonna make plank panels for wainscoting and put the clavoses on each plank top and bottom. We pulled the stucco off the bottom half of the room (one of H's piece of cake projects I was ready to kill him over when we got halfway through cause it is really hard to take off and you can't go back- kinda like childbirth) He wanted it off to make wiring easier (hah). Anway, the stucco was also gonna be pretty cheap cause "how hard can that be?!" Right! Gonna have to take a chunk of IRA to pay that one off. Your check will help too Sam since we're waaayyyyy over budget! Thanks. Again- once we started the project there was no turning back. The contractor could have put any price on the stucco job. It had to be done. As it't turned out- those guys are worth every dang penny. What a production! Will post finish pix when and if we ever get done.

Got windows at Lowes and installed them ourselves- door also- and did insulations and osb on walls, and doing our own wiring. Will the projects ever end?

The saltillo tile was already down. Stucco half-wall also already there also. So just had to frame windows and door.
