the little guy gets to stay where it's warm and will have a nice lady to take care of him. we're using our insurance to put a new bumper on the front where i ran into a rock. we're getting near book value for kelley blue book private owner sale. not bad considering it also needs new tires that the buyers didn't seem concerned about. will go to tucson tuesday with lor to take britt to airport and pick up our cadillac. the guy has offered to drive it down from scottsdale. he has another caddy he is delivering to tucson the same day. will require three people which i think is his whole office staff. interesting, tim, this guy has no salesmen. he is strictly internet. has a really nice website- arizona cars direct. very little overhead so can give pretty good deals. we got our car for $8,200 including all fees. sold ours for $6,700. not too shabby. if the caddy gets us home. we'll see!
lor- there's an autocheck 500 mile warranty that a lot of internet-sold cars give. only thing- 500 miles doesn't get us home. not hugely worried. liva- i only had two calls on the car and the second one i can't get hold of. she was really interested but had to go to tucson yesterday and that's when these other people were wanting to do a deal. so i decided to sell. i probably under sold by a couple hundred dollars. the guy offered $6,000 and I had it at $7,250 (which is about $390 over book value. too fast i told him my bottom price was $6,700. i needed to give myself more negotiating room, because my absolute bottom was $6,500. however, we're putting $250 into a new bumper. so at $6,700 we're only clearing 6,450. anyway, i was afraid he'd expect us to meet in the middle at $6,350 ish. i had about four hours to think about it because I told him we had another buyer looking at it (she never did get back to me and I couldn't get hold of her) so he gave me time to think. anyway, i decided i couldn't go below my offer of $6,700 and I was wishing I'd said $6,860 which is the private party book on good condition. but i honored my offer telling him i just couldn't go lower. reminded him he was getting a new bumper, which would cost him easily $700. so he took the deal contingent on what the mechanic has to say. it goes in today for that inspection. all in all, i think we did ok and he's getting a good deal. there are some issues with the car. it needs tires, has some paint chips on the front, a few chips in the windshield (which he asked about and we assured him they've been sealed), it has a little shimmy at 65 mph (new tires and balancing should take care of that?), pulls a little to the right (again new tires maybe will help that), some scuffing in the luggage area because we have done some hauling of wood, computers, etc., a little play in the steering wheel because it tilts and i guess that's normal. anyway, the buyer spotted most of those things but was mainly concerned with the bumper. he was very critical looking at it (dad had to go in the house and let me deal with him- he was getting mad), but then the guy says, other than the bumper, the car's perfect- after complaining about every little thing. anyway, the wife loves it and it will be her car so hopefully the mechanic will pass it and we'll get the deal done today. great timing. we go to tucson tuesday to get the caddylac. timmy- did i get enough for the cruiser? i'm thinking i could have maybe gotten a couple hundred more if i'd played my cards better. on the other hand, i want the buyer to feel like he did a good deal too. i'm thinking the market for cruisers is maybe a little better down here. but my phone wasn't ringing off the hook. only takes one, i guess.
Tim says you got a pretty good deal. He said it may have been a tad low but considering what you paid for the Caddy and the fact that you sold the Cruiser in these market conditions is great.
nice to hear that lor. didn't really sound like you. and whatya mean anyway, kater, potater. i think my grammer is just fine and who needs capitals anyway! i got straight A's (you like that capital a?) in all my english classes- language skills, spelling, grammer, literature. it's a new age- computers, black berries, etc. no time for proper english.
and what's wrong with my grammer anyway? my punctuation is almost always right. some people, like authors and grammas, get to use sentence fragments (missing subject). my spelling is usually right on. what's your problem woman? grampa's proud of your critical observation!

Did he give you any kind of warranty?
Wow, way to go on selling the Cruiser so fast. Timmy will be impressed. The market up here is not great for Cruisers right now.

holy crap- that was long- sorry!
Why don't you use correct grammar and punctuation anymore?
Sorry I meant capitalization.
Tim says you got a pretty good deal. He said it may have been a tad low but considering what you paid for the Caddy and the fact that you sold the Cruiser in these market conditions is great.
Okay,
I think Katie's been commenting in my name. That wasn't me picking on your capitalization gramma. That's definitely a Katie thing,
Lori
